the 419Report app is a digital product for a social enterprise, 419Report, that i co-founded with Comfort and Adebayo in 2022 which subsequently won the first place in the justice for the user by the user hackathon in 2022. while this was pivotal to our starting out, a defining stage for me was being accepted into the entrepreneurship school and listening to the CEO of hostels ng speak on digital products. this class rung a simple thought on my mind, and that was simplicity.
the essence of 419Report itself is to solve the problem of social media scams in Nigeria by collecting and publishing every scamming accounts across the major social media in the country: WhatsApp, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook.
the 419Report application therefore provide users the podium to report scams and join any of their preferred community to get daily updates on these scammers’ accounts. with these two solutions, i launched a 7-day design sprint which included creating a proto-systems, user personas, sketching of low-fidelity screens and high-fidelity subsequently.
